Customize Your Wedding RSVP Card

Over the year working with clients, I have noticed one of the hardest decisions people have to make is how to word the invitation, rsvp card, and details card. The truth is, there is no right or wrong way to do this, you just have to find the wording that fits your style. Below you will find some helpful hints to get started.

Here are a few things you need to consider:

  1. Reply by Date: Be sure to add a reply by date to the RSVP card, otherwise you may not get a reply and have surprise visitors.
  2. Guest Names: Most people like to have to lines for their guests to fill in the names. Another way to make sure only the people you invited come is to fill in the name yourself or having your calligrapher do the work for you.
  3. Accept or Decline: If you want to know both who is or is unable to attend, be sure to add a check box so that you get a clear answer.
  4. Entrée Preference: This section is important for those who are having a sit down meal with entrée options. If you are having a buffet you can leave this off all together or simply notate there will be food. If you have multiple entrée options, list the options, and ask your guests to tally the entrée preferences for each person.
  5. Postcards: One of the biggest suggestion to brides is postcards! It saves you money (ones less printed material) and make it even easier for your guests to get it back to you (believe me the less they have to do, the better chance of getting a timely reply even thought stuffing an envelope is no brain surgery.)

Instead of bogging you down with even more words, here is a gallery to give you some ideas:
